NORTH OF THE VAAL

The industrial and mining centre of South Africa are the lands north of the Vaal, which include the most intensive passenger and freight services in South Africa. Until 2006, there were big semaphore installations on the Ogies to Delmas coal line. A few semaphore locations remain on the Witwatersrand.
